Alan George
Alan George serves as a Research Associate at Maria’s Lab, commencing his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Mahatma Gandhi University, India. This foundational study led to his dual MSc degrees with distinction in Brain Imaging and Cognitive Neuroscience from The University of Birmingham and in Clinical Psychology from National Forensic Sciences University, India.
For his M.Sc. BICN dissertation, Alan, under Dr. Carmel Mevorach's supervision at the TMS lab in the Centre for Human Brain Health, concentrated on clinical neurosciences. His research centered on using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation to explore the precuneus's role as a biomarker in understanding the diametric effect of atypical attention in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and psychosis. Furthermore, his role as a Research Assistant at the Applied Memory Lab for the 'Rights for Time' network involved developing episodic memory training for gender defenders under Dr. Heather Flowe. His academic excellence is matched by his rich clinical experience as a Consultant Psychologist at Deep Origins, India.
