Amrita Bains

My name is Amrita Kaur Bains, I am dedicated to pursuing an MNurs in Leadership and Research in Mental Health Nursing at the University of Birmingham. My passion for mental health led me into pursuing a research placement, with Dr Maria Dauvermann, for a short period of time that delved into the profound impact of childhood adversity on mental health conditions.

With a strong commitment to making a difference in this field, I hope to be a driving force for positive change.

Beyond my academic pursuits, I am an active member of the University of Birmingham Bhangra Society and have taken on leadership roles, even participating in Bhangra competitions on an international level. My dedication to this art form extends from being a professional Dhol (Drum) player, gracing stages at renowned events such as Glastonbury. My talents have also led to appearances on both big and small screens, showcasing my versatility and artistic prowess.

With a combination of academic excellence and a deep passion for the arts, I feel I bring a unique perspective to the study of mental health and believe in the importance of a well-rounded approach to life.
